JEFF HIATT

Jeff Hiatt is a recognized author and thought leader in the field of change management. The author of several books on managing the human side of change, Hiatt’s titles include: ADKAR: A Model For Change In Business, Government And Our Community, Change Management: The People Side of Change, The Perfect Change, The Employee’s Survival Guide to Change, and Winning with Quality (co-author).
As the founder and CEO of a company that is the worldwide leader in change management research, Jeff has led benchmarking and best practices research with more than 1700 organizations in 59 countries. He works with a majority of Fortune 500 companies and government agencies from around the world, including the United Nations and the United States Department of Defense.
Jeff has been a frequent keynote speaker with management and executive groups, focusing on why change management is essential to realizing business results on organizational change projects and transformations. Using real research data and interactive activities and models, Jeff explains the importance of change management and “what you can do about it.” Participants leave the session with practical knowledge of change management and a roadmap for leading successful change in their organizations.
Prior to founding his business in 1995, Hiatt worked for a company where he led restructuring and business process improvement projects both in the US and Europe. Originally educated in engineering, he departed from this field of study early on with a project to reduce costs and shorten the lifecycle of new products for AT&T. This single project began a life-long interest in change management and business process reengineering. For the past 18 years, Jeff has pursued research, writing, training and coaching with business leaders in change management and business improvement.
Jeff Hiatt has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University. He lives in Colorado with his wife and two children.
