James Glassman is a renowned writer and speaker on technology, finance, economics and politics. A fellow at Washington, D.C.’s distinguished American Enterprise Institute, Glassman the author of the new book titled The Secret Code of the Successful Investor. His last book, Dow 36,000, co-authored with Kevin Hassett, made the bestseller lists of the Wall Street Journal, Business Week and the New York Times. Allan Sloan called it “one of the hottest business books around. It has wonderfully clear explanations of financial theory [and] excellent advice on general investing approaching.”

A prolific writer, Glassman spent six years writing a popular column in The Washington Post, which was syndicated throughout the country and the world, appearing in newspapers ranging from the International Herald Tribune to the San Jose Mercury News. Glassman continues to write articles and op-ed pieces in publications such as New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Atlantic Monthly, the Times Literary Supplement (London), Los Angeles Times and Reader’s Digest.

He has also had a long career in television. He was the host of CNN’s political talk show Capital Gang Sunday and PBS’s TechnoPolitics, a weekly program on technology and public policy. He has appeared numerous times on ABC’s Nightline, PBS’s NewsHour With Jim Lehrer, CNN’s Crossfire and many others.

From 1988 to 1993, Glassman was editor and part-owner of Roll Call, a twice-weekly newspaper that covers Congress. He has also been publisher of two venerable public affairs magazines, The New Republic and The Atlantic Monthly.
