DON MCMILLAN
“TECHNICALLY FUNNY” FORMER COMPUTER WHIZ
McMillan can currently be seen all over television as the star of new series of six national commercials for Budweiser Beer. Don plays “Gus”, a Bud driver/salesman who cares SO much about the beer that he talks to it, covers a locked car with ice to save it from the heat, searches for the “family” of a little lost bottle, and orders beer from a snooty French waiter. Plus, he was featured in two new spots on the Super Bowl!
You may have also caught Don from his numerous television appearances as a stand-up comic over the past 10 years. He was a guest on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He was also the $100,000 Grand Champion on Star Search in 1993. Before that he was the winner of the 16th Annual San Francisco International Stand-Up Comedy Competition in 1991. Don’s made numerous television appearances including: NBC’s Friday Night, MTV’s Half Hour Comedy Hour, A&E’s Evening at the Improv and the Larry King Show. He has also been seen in commercials for Franco American Ravioli, Little Caesar’s Pizza and United Airlines. Nowadays, Don can be found headlining comedy clubs from the Improv to Catch-a-Rising Star.
Don has also developed a one-of-a-kind high-tech comedy show which he has performed at over 200 corporate events across the country. Why a high-tech show? – because of Don’s unique background. He graduated from Stanford University with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1982. He went to work for AT&T Bell Laboratories where he was part of the team that designed the world’s first 32-bit Microprocessor. He then moved to the Silicon Valley where he worked at VLSI Technology as a chip designer. During his six years at VLSI, he designed more than 50 state-of-the-art integrated circuits many of which are still out there in systems today. In 1989, he permanently turned in his chips for a microphone and hasn’t looked back since.
