WINNING SURE BEATS LOSING

DR. JACK LLEWELLYN

From sports stars to senior executives, Dr. Jack Llewellyn inspires dramatic results as he leads you to develop a winning attitude.

As the founder and President of the Center for Winning Performance, Jack has used the same approach and strategies, for athletes as well as business executives, to transform survivors into winners. These proven concepts are detailed in his recent book, Winning Sure Beats Losing: and Here’s What You Can Do About it.

Llewellyn started receiving national press back in 1991 when he was credited with turning around Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz’s career. John was 2-11 halfway through the season when the Braves asked Jack to work with him. Jack immediately started teaching John how to properly assess his abilities, channel his emotions, to correctly focus on his goals and to thrive on stress. Perhaps most importantly, to understand how to quickly recover from adversity, the most important skill with all top performers. Smoltz went 12-2 in the season’s second half and he went on to become one of the premier pitchers in major league baseball during the 1990’s. Jack worked with the Braves during their record 14 consecutive National League Division titles, which included winning the World Series in 1995.

In 2002, Jack was called upon to work with NASCAR race car driver Tony Stewart. Those who know NASACAR know that Tony is a talented but emotional driver. When Jack started working with Tony he was #6 on the NASCAR ranking. By the end of the 2002 season, Tony was #1, winning a series high 15 top five finishes and being awarded the Winston Cup Series Championship

Jack other sport clients have included the New York Mets, the New York Yankees, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates, Montreal Expos, the Houston Astros, the NBA Atlanta Hawks, NFL players, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Professional Boxers, PGA and LPGA golfers, tennis players, and Olympic athletes. He was also appointed to the key role of the Sports Psychology Consultant for the IOC Polyclinic as an on-call Sports Psychologist for all teams and nationalities at the 1996 summer Olympic Games in Atlanta.

Llewellyn’s corporate guidance is equally successful. His clients have included IBM, AT&T, 3M, American Express, Siemens, Novartis, Duke Energy, Georgia-Pacific, Ely Lilly, Johnson & Johnson, and many national associations. His entertaining approach inspires dramatic new results and fosters a winning atmosphere throughout an organization.

Dr. Llewellyn received his BS from Maryville College, his MS and EDS from Eastern Kentucky University and his PhD from Florida State University.
