WILLIAM D. DANKO
CO-AUTHOR THE MILLIONAIRE NEXT DOOR
William D. Danko is the chair of the marketing faculty in the School of Business, State University of New York at Albany. His publications have appeared in the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Advertising Research, and other leading journals. He co-authored The Millionaire Next Door, a research-based book about wealth in America that has been ranked as a bestseller by The New York Times for more than three years, selling more than 2.5 million copies.
Dr. Danko served as the founding director of the University’s executive development program and as the MBA program director. He currently serves as a director of New York Business Development Corporation’s affiliate, Statewide Zone Capital Corporation. To assist the dispossessed of society, Dr. Danko spearheaded the effort to create a scholarship fund – The Milton & Mary M. Danko Golden Rule Award – named after his parents.
Dr. Danko earned his Ph.D. at the Lally School of Management and Technology, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, New York. He resides in upstate New York with his wife, and is the father of three adult children.
