STEPHEN SHAPIRO
AUTHOR, GOAL-FREE LIVING: HOW TO HAVE THE LIFE YOU WANT NOW!
Stephen Shapiro is the author of 24/7 Innovation: A Blueprint for Surviving and Thriving in an Age of Change (McGraw-Hill), and the founder of The 24/7 Innovation Group, a management education and research organization concentrating on innovation and break-through thinking.
Previously, during his 15 year tenure with Accenture, he founded the firm’s Global Process Excellence Practice in 1996. He was also the founder and director of the Center for Process Excellence, an R&D group focused on process, performance improvement, simulation, and innovation. In 1999 he moved to London to head the European Process Excellence Practice. He was also a leader of the firm’s reengineering practice since its inception in 1992.
During his career, Stephen has advised leading organizations around the world in a wide variety of industries including Staples, General Electric, Lockheed Martin, ABB, Xerox, Avaya, Vodafone, Intel, BMW WilliamsF1, the World Rally Championship, Frito Lay, Barclays, Singapore’s Economic Development Board/Standards, Productivity and Innovation Board, UPS, and Bristol-Myers Squibb. He is also a frequent speaker at industry conferences including The Marketing Forum, The Forrester CIO Forum, and the Human Resources Council.
During the summer of 2003, Stephen drove 12,000 miles and interviewed 150 people for his next book, Goal-Free Living: How to Have the Life You Want NOW! (Wiley).
In addition to writing 24/7 Innovation, Stephen was a contributor to several Economist Intelligence Unit reports and to Bill Gates’s book Business @ the Speed of Thought. He has also published articles in over three dozen newspapers and magazines, including contributions to Investor’s Business Daily and the New York Times. He is also a jazz saxophonist, a talent he sometimes uses to demonstrate creativity in his speeches and presentations.
Stephen is a member of the National Speakers Association and has given speeches to over 100,000 people in 25 countries.
