AMY ALCOTT
GOLFING LEGEND
Alcott’s short amateur career was highlighted by her 1973 USGA Junior Girls title at the age of 17.
In 1983, Alcott became the sixth LPGA millionaire and in 1994 she crossed the $2 million mark in career earnings.
Alcott was awarded the Founders Cup in 1986, designed to recognize altruistic contributions to the betterment of society by an LPGA member. Alcott was also awarded the 1997 Sports and Law Award on November 6 in Beverly Hills, CA along with Kareem Abdul Jabbar. She has made a $50,000 endowment to the UCLA Women’s Athletic Department which will establish perpetual golf scholarships for the women’s golf program.
Alcott spends part of her off-time as a short order cook at the Butterfly Bakery in Los Angeles where she says, “the pressure of getting an order right is greater than sinking a putt.”
