AL FRANKEN
POPULAR POLITICAL SATIRIST
Al Franken is best known for nearly two decades of work on “Saturday Night Live (SNL).” During that time, Franken wrote, performed in and produced hundreds of sketches, including “Daily Affirmations with Stuart Smalley” and “The Final Days,” a piece about the last days of the Nixon presidency.
With his number one national bestseller “Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot and Other Observations”, Al Franken emerged as one of the nations top political humorists. Now with his follow-up work, “Why Not Me?: The Inside Story of the Making and Unmaking of the Franken Presidency”, he continues to offer an irreverent view of the personalities and processes that define the American political scene.
He has received four Emmys for his writing on SNL and a fifth for producing. In 1988, he provided commentary for CNN at the Democratic National Convention in Atlanta. And in 1992, he anchored Comedy Centrals Indecision 92, winning wide critical acclaim for his coverage of both conventions and election night. The New York Post called him the Walter Cronkite of the 90s. He is also a frequent guest on Politically Incorrect, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Late Show with David Letterman.
When professionally speaking, he engages and entertains audiences from corporations, associations and universities with his hilarious and insightful commentary on the state on national politics and world affairs.
